A/C Groundhog Day Yet?

I'm sure those in the north have not yet dreamed of testing their A/C yet, but down here it's coming up soon.

The air conditioning questions will be upon us any day now.

First day of the new year was Thursday for running my central A/C in my residence. A/C working fine in both the Ford and MB turbodiesels.

How well I remember the mercury reaching 115F in Laredo, Texas the 2nd week of April, a few years ago when I was working there.

For any newcomers, Larry is one of our most knowledgable members when it comes to getting these reluctant old AC systems working well.

The PO installed a new A/C compressor but didn't charge it.

Two days ago I added the compressor oil and charged it up. It works good.

Snow predicted here in Idaho for Tuesday.

Before it gets hot enough for AC, I hope to have a working heater-core in my 300TD.

Happy Motoring, Mark

It's A/C weather here.

It doesn't work, and probably never will by choice at this point, in my '79.

However I plan to get it working in my '85. First I just need to get my CCU to do anything at all when the buttons are pushed.

Then there will be the "I just filled the system with R134a and it is not cold enough" threads.

I have on my list, to rebuild all the A/C components in my newer 300SD. The grey car is still working fine sans a vacuum leak in the ACC that I need to find and quash.

Shouldn`t the AC be working anyway with a properly working AC/Heat to keep the windows de-fogged?

Winter time everyone panics the Heat doesn`t work.
Summer time everyone panics the AC doesn`t work.

Now if there was a way to bring all the threads back up from a year ago, there is all the answers for this seasons questions.

So much for trying to go back to the role of trying to lend a hand here and there.
