1985 300CD-T (123.153): Unable to remove front wheel hub plus brake disc

My vehicle: 1985 300CD-T (California).

Issue: I am attempting to remove the right front wheel hub plus brake disc and after about an hour of trying, I have been unable to free it.

I have attached a picture here.

I am just wondering: Is there something besides the inner bearing and race that might be holding the wheel hub and brake disc onto the axle shaft?

I have removed as much grease as I can and sprayed lubricant in there and let it set, but no additional movement has occurred.

Thanks for any advice about how to finally free the wheel hub and brake disc.

I had the same issue.

I used a slide hammer and gear puller.

I had a problem getting it back on also, after using a freeze pak on the spindle and putting the hub in a low oven, finally got it on properly, been fine ever since.

I don't have access to a slide hammer and puller.
I see the one at Harbor Freight is not reviewed with much enthusiasm.

Would application of some MAP gas help?
I am replacing the two races, two bearings, and seal so I'm really only concerned about not damaging the axle shaft and wheel hub.

The lubricant I sprayed in there was Wurth Rost Off as I did not have PB Blaster. I have a Lowe's down the street though and I can get get some PB Blaster there if that might help.

Thanks-

I think it gets a suction some how where it just sticks, and getting it on, may be air that is trapped?

Would a three fingered/Jaw gear puller work? HF has them.

Search results for: 'gear puller'

Where in Kali Land are you located?

Hmmm, suction? Could be I suppose.

Thanks for the Harbor Freight link. Any suggestions about which one(s) of the 8 pullers listed would be optimal for the application I have in front of me?

I am located in Sacramento county. Used to live near Soquel. Wish I was there now, lemmetellya.

Thanks-

Problem solved

About 15 seconds application of MAP gas did the trick.
Don't breathe while doing this:
The grease in there is going to burn and smoke,of course.

About ten shakes of the wheel hub-rotor assembly and the whole thing came completely loose, like ***** through a goose.

Thanks for all the advice, ya'll. Back to the project.

That was easy. Staples "Easy Button" Sound Effect - YouTube

The sets HF shows are all similar except for the threaded rod diameter. 15mm or 17mm.
Think I would go to their store and eye ball them.

Looking at one of my spare Steering Knuckles with a Hub and Rotor on it. The back side of the Hub is not totally flat. I slops some, so maybe the Puller might slip off, but probably wouldn`t really take much to break one free.
