'82 300TD Tail Light Issue

Howdy,

Having some issues with my tail lights. Wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the W123 300TD? Specifically the wiring from the connectors in the spare tire area to the bulb holder.

Did a quick search and didn't see anything.

Also, has anyone found a permanent fix for the janky bulb holders? Those things seem like they could use an upgrade. I'm almost thinking of splitting that assembly and wiring in some new bulb holders.

Thanks!!

Wiring diagrams (and the entire shop manual) are located at startekinfo.com

Look on the left for MB Workshop Resources
Page through about 3 or 4 pages to Model 123 Service Library

This is the entire online service manual for your car.

Just checked StartekInfo and the wiring diagram for the 300TD is not available. I think my issue is more with the sockets than the wiring but, having a diagram can't hurt.

I thought about replacing the sockets as well, but I'm going to do a led conversion instead.
