That is also my worry that the previous owner tinkered with it trying to get it running. I will have to check the timing today just to make sure. So I have to pull that bolt out and I will see some timing mark there. The other source could still be the injectors. I did not pop test them because I do not have a POP tester. I could have bad injectors. I will probably buy a new set of injector nozzles and have them installed. I have done this in the past on my other diesels. I would get new nozzles and just replace the them and torque them to the proper spec and that has always worked for me. I never pop tested them because I did not have a POP tester. Also do not know where to get the shims that would fit into the injector if I had to make adjustments. But my question is how well the injectors would work with new nozzles and just assembling them without the tester. Are the nozzles the same for these injectors. They sure appear to be the same nozzle as on the older injectors. Does anybody have a good source to get 6 new injector nozzles? |

The timing mark is a ridge. It should end up in the center of the hole.
I will be covered in oil, so you may have to wipe it off to see it clearly.
