fresh oil change, new valve cover gasket, and valve adjustment, you should be leak free.
new o-rings on the air cleaner, and disassemble and clean and reseal the oil catch can in the air cleaner, replace the crank case vent hose ends... that blow by is NOTHING! looks like a good purchase.

I agree, no blow by, that mechanic didn't want to deal with this car.

There is no "O" ring on the bottom of the oil separator, I have a few.

Also, no, or disintegrated lower "U" tube gasket, have another of those too.

Bigger issue, the separator drain tube is loose. May have to replace the "O" ring on the oil pan, not looking forward to that.

Yeah, a valve adjustment and new gasket are in the works.

How do I disassemble the oil separator?

The egr valve is closed, I may just put it back on instead of installing a block off kit.

Nice one - what are you going to do with it when it is done?

Haven't decided Stretch, gonna depend on many factors.

Rust through on the rear passenger footwell.

Rear hatch doesn't stay open, broken antenna, rust here and there, broken seat springs here and there, don't want it to turn into a money pit.

You can see some red paper I put on the ground in the first pic, just behind the front seat.

Second shows at the back of the floor.

Going over a bunch of records, a valve adjustment and new gasket were done eight months and 6,000 miles ago. Over $250.00, yikes.

Glow plugs replaced four years ago and 34,000 miles ago, bet they're Autolites.

The air cleaner was soaked in oil too. I'm thinking the PO mentioned his son always made sure it had oil. Maybe he over filled it sending oil all over the place to include a bunch of smoke. Car stopped, perhaps stalled, was towed home, yet driven after that.

The misses doesn't like the 123 body cars. So it's in my driveway now.

Still going over the records.

Looks like a project! I love how you basically spend the whole video trying to scream over the 617 .

Saw your fourth video, and man, that floor not pulling up is weird. As far as the rust, I would really think that you'd be best off welding it, since it is so close to the seatbelt anchor. Having a shop weld that up shouldn't be too scarily expensive, either, (if you don't weld/don't want to learn how to weld) but I could be wrong.

Found out how to open the floor, the handle does turn to release a locking mechanism.

I vacuum out around the pivot point, sprayed some PB Blaster, opens right up.

Yeah, screaming over the engine, you can actually hear me some of the time!

Both of those pictures look like trouble - I think if you were to try to weld to some of that it would just vaporise.

Can you weld?

If you don't want to spend lots of time and money on this project I'd be treading carefully. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I don't like the look of that rust.
