OM606 coolant drain on block
I cannot locate the coolant drain on the block of a 1998 E300TD, OM606, W210. I have the Star DVD and the manual by Peter R. The graphics are not helping me.

606 drain
Look on passenger side near block heater plug.

It's a bolt with a nipple fitting. Put a hose on the nipple, direct the hose to a container, and crack the bolt to drain with no mess.

I have a 606 out of car and will try to have a look. Since the 606 is similar to a M104, have a look passenger side block about cylinder 5 . The drain plug is really a big brake bleeder screw. ( 3/4 " 19mm from what I recall ) Attach a hose to the valve to eliminate splash.

It's a big fitting that takes a 22mm wrench IIRC. By hose they mean garden hose.

on MY car, non-turbo OM606, 'tis quite easy because there is no turbocharger blocking the path. I believe it is 19mm on my car. It is close to the block heater, so if the cord is installed you can follow that to the heater, and then the drain plug is either right in front of that or right behind that.

its near cyl 5 and its a 19mm bleed nipple, it takes a 3/8 hose (if you want) with my NA engine I can reach in with my socket, half extension and ratchet to unscrew it slightly from the top. Once loose remove socket install hose by feel and unscrew the nipple to let it drain into the same tub that the radiator is draining into.
