w210 rattle from front brakes?
I finally fixed all of the noises coming from my suspension, but couldn't target the last one till yesterday. I notice a slight rattle sound on bumps from the front end. Then I noticed that when I step on the brakes, even slightly it doesn't make the noise. I got out of the car and everything seems tight. I hit the tire a couple times with my fist and i could hear the rattle. Any idea what it might be or how I can remedy it? There is TONS of pad left and the rotors are good too.

the 210 has similar breaks to the other model cars, but you might have a baked pad backing, you may have a caliper bolt backing out, you may have sticking pads, or similar.
I'd pull the wheel, take off the caliper, clean and lube the moving parts, and brake seal the pads to the calipers... see if the noise goes away after that. remember... the caliper bolts need to be CLEANED, AND BLUE LOCTITE sealed to the spindle mounts!!! DO NOT USE ANTISEIZE ON THEM!!!!

I checked out the brakes and they are good. The entire caliper rattles when you hit it and it appears to be able to rock back and forth even though it is tightened to its fullest.

I'll try to take one soon. It's still my daily driver and stops on a dime. The rattle sound disappears when you tap the brake even slightly.

Take off the caliper and pack the slide pins with grease. You could also have a sticking piston. Hit the brakes on a straight piece of road and take your hands off the wheel. Does the car pull to one side? Keep in mind that the 96-97 diesel has smaller W202 front brakes, unlike all other W210s.

Pics? I'd like to see that caliper, slide pins may be an issue, some carsneed o-rings with pads...

So...the Rattle...was from both front calipers not having anti rattle clips/springs on them. I guess I never heard the rattling before with all the suspension problems. Fixed all the suspension noises and then started to notice the rattling in the front brakes. All good and quiet now.
