Less on time and less cycling the glow plugs = longer life. Did you watch the video? There's a buzzer and a light to warn that the glows are on. It does not just give me peace of mind, it works! Obviously it's not for you.

manual glow plugs

Funola I like the idea of the manual gp. Why did you take the r/b wire and violet wires out which one carries the juice r/b I imagine what is the violet for? Did you find a spectial end so you could put it back on the pin. Right now all my g/p are good but the indicator light on dash does not always light up when key is turned on. I want to go to this setup so I only use g/p when needed not when engine is warm. Tired of putting so many g/p in. Did you just leave the r/b wire dangle there and tape the end?

I took the r/b wire and violet wires out so as to isolate these 2 wires that comes from the key switch. I just let them dangle. I had extra female pins for adding the wires that's manually controlling the glow relay.
