Tilly The 300D Hands Free Stereo Upgrade

Hey guys thought i would share this up grade to Tilly.
Was going to put a stock radio back in Tilly.
But I was having a crazy time finding the right harness/connector for the Becker Europa radio I have. Soooo...I was at Best Buy and spied this open box BT ready Alpine UTE-42BT.
60 Bones out the door. The previous owner really had hacked up the harness to put in a crappy Sony head unit. I had to rewire most of it, had this one up and running in 30 mins. I ran the hands free mic up through and lined it up with the other instrument panel buttons. Kind of a hack job. If I had nicer zebrano finish i would have taken my time. Still like the idea of a stock radio. Maybe my next rust free 300d will have that :)

Is that a Bluetooth mike there?

I also bought an Alpine from BestBuy, a few years back. I liked the low price ($69), reserved look and the multiple inputs on front (AM/FM/CD, USB and Aux). Don't think they still sell them. I would like to put one in my SL.

Looks like this is new version: Alpine MP3/WMA CD Car Deck With Aux Input (CDE-140) : Single DIN - Best Buy Canada

This is the one I have: Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

it does have bluetooth pairing for cell phones.
which is the main reason i bought it.
mine was open box and did not come with a mic..i went back to best buy and asked if they still had the mic..they did not... but gave me another mic from a kenwood open box :)

Just had a look at Best Buy up here in Canada. $109 for that radio and not open box. Not so bad. I too don't need a CD player. I use a USB stick and at present can use it in our GLK and our 300D. E320 has a trunk mounted CD changer and no option for media (except via tape player adapter). My SL has a newer Sony. It may have an aux input, but no USB. Then we have a boat on which the radio has died. Might buy an Alpine and put it in SL then switch Sony to boat. But low on job list!

I don't use cell phone much, so Bluetooth not much use to me.

the second from the right switch is for the sunroof.
which needs greased...the sunroof guids ..not the switch :P...it still works pretty well
that and the rear window seal are next on the list.

edit: sorry luppi didnt understand your mystery button question about the button...for some reason its upside down :P
gotta fix that
