iPhone app for code reader...recommendations?
I have a code reader, but I thought I might as well get a code reading app for my iPhone. I suppose I'll just get get a cable, though I see there are some wifi set-ups (but I think some of them need the iPhone to be jailbroken to work).
Anyway, what's worked well for any of you? Some folks on another MB forum seems to like Dash Command. Thanks.

Looks like that app works particularly well with the ELM327.

Code Reader
Outils OBD Facile is the ($15.00 premium version) app I've been using...requires an ELM327 wifi interface
I'm sure that there are others out there

Yup it worked on my 97 as well as a bunch of 96+ non MBs. My ELM327 is Bluetooth, not WiFi.

That is exactly what I use(d) in my w210. My phone is android and I use it with the Torque app. I bought a cheap one off of eBay a couple years ago. I went to try it in my mom's suburban a month ago and couldn't get it to pair. Take that for what it's worth.

Odd....you'd think pairing would simply be a function of the two devices, that the vehicle would be irrelevant.

I guess I should clarify. I hadn't used it in at least a year (my wife drives the 210) and I have a new phone. I went to pair it to the new phone and it keeps telling me the pairing code is invalid. I'm about 99% certain the code is 0000 but I have also tried 1234. So it won't pair. I guess I got my $13 out of it anyways.

Hmmm....bought an ELM 327 for Bluetooth, only to find out that Torque wants a wifi adapter. Quite apart from the incompatibility, my phone doesn't recognize the Bluetooth device. Guess I'll just get a wifi version.
