Yes

We will be joining everyone for the GTG. Taking the 280sl. Jr. will be riding as well. The car seat just fits in the jump seat. I just checked everything out and its ready to go. A/C is cold. Not that I will need it on a coast drive.
I will be parking the 300d at my shop/studio in Forestville. Some issues still with her. Maybe if people want we can stop there and car chat for a bit. We could look over cars there with plenty of space and quiet.
Sebastopol Luckys will be pretty quiet at 10am so I dont think it will be an issue finding people. There is an Oreileys and Baskin Robbins in the same lot on the south side. Usually most space will be in the north side of the parking lot by the bank and Marys Pizza. Maybe it would be good to specify where in the lot to meet.

I'm likely going to be runng a bit late to Sebastopol, but my friend Donnnie will be there with his VW, So look for the guy with a VW lol.
If you think the north side of the lot works the best lets meet there, I'll let Donnie know.

I am bumbed that I can't be there today. After returning from Mexico, I had so many things pile up on me that I could not squeeze in the drive (actually the loooooooooooooong drive). I also loaned out my nicest car to my sister-in-law, so I would have had to drive my beater 240. I hope that sometime we can plan a north meets south trip again, and maybe meet somewhere in between.....Rich

The Sacramento crew is late, but on the road. We'll be there some time after 10:30.

Look for the older couple in the shiney white SLK. That is my friends mom, she will be at the Lucky's parking lot, near the Mary's pizza.

I want to formally say a HUGE THANK YOU to my amazing wonderful son, SirNik84. There is no better son: he bought me a beautiful car (she had damage but great potential), fix it to like new condition, spend a week driving down me in my 300D and him in his wonderful 300 SD to San Diego and back on some of the most iconic roadways in the world, let alone in California. My "new" MB is amazing: fast responsive, corners like it is on rails, handles just as you expect a Mercedes Benz should. We, my husband and I, have had the time of our lives.
THANK YOU for all you had done for us.

I would have to agree. It is amazing to me that there are so many great people here in this community, and I am happy to have met some of them. Your son is a prime example. Participating in cruises/drives/GTG's etc. is a great way to meet new folks and to place a screen name with a real person. That is one reason my brother and I like to organize and participate in them. A big thanks also goes out to the PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum for this great CyberPlace to hang out!....Rich

GTG photos

Here are some photos from our great trip down the Northern California Coast.
13 cars in all. Weather was great and the company even better.
What a great group of folks. It so happened that the day of the ride was
Charlie and Adele's 28th wedding anniversary. We all signed a card for them
and then passed the hat at our lunch stop in Bodega Bay and treated them
to a little luncheon celebration. Happy 28th you two!

Also, Congrats to Cynthia & Ed who will soon tie the knot.
It was a great ride put on by Sir Nik and it was great to meet his Mom, Peggy.
Peggy showed off her new car (complete with the water injection they put in)
Derek had his 300SD there with the transplanted 603 engine.
Josh had the cleanest, nicest 617 I'd ever seen.
And I had to show off the wooden steering wheel my son found for me at PNP.
Thanks to my lovely wife, Katherine, for taking all the photos.

Hats off to SirNik for organizing this great GTG.

Jeff

Donnie is a good friend of Nik's so he let him sneak in with a VW.
And Jim B got to come in a BMW.

last pix

Here's the last of the photos.
The forum makes them really tiny and they're not as nice as they could be.
If anyone wants a nice big file to have, just PM me
and I'll be glad to send it to you.
