Below are some pics. Again, the problem is with the bottom section of the air box.
The left rear threads are stripped but there's no damage to the plastic. The right front plastic is destroyed. Other two corners are in good shape. I replaced the air filter and it appears as if I have a good, tight, flush fit with only two corners tightened. It doesn't look like I have enough clearance to do a neat clean duct tape installation. I guess some sort of clamping or bolt/nut arrangement is a possibility....but how that would work is not obvious to me. FWIW, Honda said it should be fine....they didn't seize the opportunity to say, "Sir, we highly recommend that you replace the air box to prevent engine damage." |

You can fix it with a nut-sert or just any old hardware that fits.
