Just pull the shock up....until it can be bolted in...
Did you replace both mounts with lemforder or phoenix? Did you do the transmission mount? You'll have issues soon, if you didn't do all three or used a cheap mounts...

The transmission mounts usually go for a long time. The motor mounts are what is absorbing all of the diesel vibrations. With the transmission mounts, it's very difficult to determine what brand to buy. In my case, I decided to let the transmission mount sit until it really needs to be done and then put an OEM part from the stealership in it.
I did the same thing recently with replacing my motor mounts. Just insert the shock as it should be in the frame and pull down on the shaft with your adjustable wrench until it drops down enough to get the rubber and the nut back on it. Dkr. |

Yeah, the trans mounts are hard to find too for our cars coolljay, I ordered the one from Pelican that was indicated for a 240D manual (closed I'll find to a 300TD manual, which was never sold here). It was literally one half the size of the OEM mount. Had it so long I don't think I can send it back.

Got it
I was able to pull it down and bolt it this morning
Thanks everyone for the help I did the trans mount a few months ago when I did driveshaft flex discs and center support Bering The driver side still in decent shape The pass side was so badly collapsed that when I turned left the engine was shifting right and contact the body and make a horrible noise I was chasing this noise for a couple of months and replaced all suspension parts And finally it's fixed I had to settle for the cheap option because the dealer wants 110 a piece Not my favorite way of doing things but i was chasing a problem and was not sure if it was gonna fix it The noise is gone and it drives great Thanks everyone for the info |
