Disconnecting wiper motor from arm assembly on w126 / 300sd

Wipers stopped working today (in the rain, of course) and some research shows that there's plenty of others that have had the same problem. Linkage came apart right under the motor. I can try a junk yard for another arm assembly tomorrow, but I'm having trouble getting the current one out. I can't seem to figure out how to disconnect the plug going into the motor in order to pull the entire arm assembly out.

Do I have to disconnect the motor from the assembly? Or does the plug pop off? I gave the plug some pressure, but it didn't seem like it wanted to budge.

Any help is most appreciated.

You mean the electrical connector on the firewall? Its a weird one. You have to lift the tabs on the sides to get it to release. I usually dismantle it down to the wires/pins and leave the plastic piece on the firewall.
