How do I find paint code FOR PLASTIC LOWER SECTION?
I need to repaint the plastic coverings for the jack points on my 91 300D. The paint on the body is 702, smoke silver metallic. On the data card for my car, I see an additional paint code, 75, but I can't seem to find that on the various online lists of MB paint codes.
Can anyone help me figure out the exact color?

Called the dealer....info is not on data card. I'm told it's 176 shell grey, a code I don't see on any of the paint code lists.

For trim, they seem to use four digit paint codes. For instance, at paintscratch.com, your trim is referred to as 7176 (Gray Metallic is the name they provide). As an aside, if you put your info into that website, it claims that on your car will be a code 300034. This is the one code that translates into your two tone combination.
The folks at paintscratch.com are helpful, but I did not have much luck purchasing their paint for my 1968. They claim their color is the correct one, and that my entire car (jambs and all) is faded, but I am skeptical. I know others here have had better luck.

Another option:
Find your "good" auto paint store. My guy will use the color matching gizmo as a starting point then go thru his chips to find an exact match. Between fleet colors, generic colors, and manufacturer-specific colors he always comes up with a perfect match. Part of the deal is that paint changes color with age and sun exposure so even the "right" color may not be right on your car. People think it fades but that isn't always the way it changes so you really need a good paint guy to match it for you. At my store there's never a charge for that service. Dan |

That is strange the dealer could not tell you, when I painted my Beryl Blue 124 I called the dealer and the parts manager instantly produced the paint code for the lower trim.
However shortsguy has already provided the right info that you needed.

paint code for plastic lower section
FYI, you might check the trim paint colors by SEM that are on the Summit Racing website. Their titanium metallic color is a match for a number of cars of the same period as your car, and it looks great, just the right satin sheen, no overlap marks, etc. Also, it's sold in spray cans, no mixing, and it's not expensive.
