Steel pin - aluminium alloy head nightmare eh?

I still have one stuck in an old M102 head that is never ever gonna come free.

Here's how I try to remove them =>

(from this thread http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/tech-help/341121-achtung-das-schweinhund-baby-benz-thread-38.html)

Larger sized nuts to use a push for a bolt that screws into the pin

If it isn't corroded stuck at a "molecular level" you might have a chance of success

Heat can help but be careful with alloy heads

If you've pulled the correct two pins, it should be free.

This illustration really does not show how to do it very clearly. (Sorry stretch, your explanations are usually very very clear) The bolt needs enough larger sized nuts and or washers so that when you screw the bolt in it pulls the pin.

You're quite correct - sorry about that - I must be on the blob

Sounds like you may not have the correct lower pin out.

well i looked at the head again and there is no pin or anything left to pull out, is the guide just supposed to pull right out? can i go ahead and take the head off ? or do i really need to get the guide out first?

I must correct myself: If you've got the correct two pins pulled, you can now pull the head, and the guide will be left in place on the chain. The guide goes over the top and under the bottom of the chain, so I don't think you can remove it with the head in place, unless you break the chain, then you may be able to slide it out over the end of the chain.

The guide may also be wider at the bottom pin mount, so it is effectively trapped until the head comes off.
