OM602 head gasket

In midst of OM602 head gasket job. Engine is mostly excavated, manifolds peeled back.

How do I remove oil line to back of head? Haven't looked too close yet.

8 or 10 cap screws removed from valve cover, but it won't budge. How to I get it off?

Thanks,

Hmmm... I just unscrewed everything and lifted it off of my car...

it's been a while, I'm not sure exactly what I did... but it was not difficult.

The oil line come from the rear lower part of engine under the turbo the upper is on the turbo and one fastener under the exhaust manifold. All of these need to be removed.

The valve cover you may need to hit it with a rubber mallet to loosen it I had too!

Valve cover comes off when all the screws are out. Check to see if you forgot something.

What oil line to the back of the head? Are you talking about the takeoff for the heater hose? if so, you have to unbolt the support from the oil filter housing. Once that's done, it just pulls out of the retainer.

What car is this? Photos would help. Meanwhile, watch this video:

Isn't it? I've been looking for clues about the musician. None beyond the lyrics which don't come up on google.

A bit of 2# hammer, mediated by scrap 2X4. Hit towards the back at the right corner (short leg of the L) 6 or 8 times.

So, the takeoff for the heater hose, big hex nut, moves about 1/4 turn. Does the manifold thing just pull out then?

It looks like a nut, but it isn't. What you have to do is undo the bolts that hold the hose fitting to the oil filter housing. There are several of them. Once the fitting is free, it will just pull straight out of the "nut". If you try to undo it with the hose in place, you will strip the threads and give your machine shop an extra task.

Good thing I didn't pull too hard on the wrench, then. THanks.

Glad to know my mistake won't be repeated by you. The "nut" is available from the dealer, but the damage would be to the head as well.
