W124 brake rotor help
I'm in the process of changing out the brakes on my W124 wagon and the little screw that helps hold the rotor on the hub snapped while I was removing it. Is it critical to drill it out or can I just forget about it? As far as I can tell it only holds the rotor to the hub during assembly.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess another way of saying it is, if you're worried about the rotor coming off while driving and you won't be able to stop the car.. Have no fear, because the wheel is off too, so you can't steer either, but the good news is your hub will be digging a trough into the pavement doing its best to help you come to rest.

Looking at the way it goes together its fairly evident it is just to ease assembly. I am going to use a lug to hold the rotor on while I get the caliper replaced and then that should hold it steady until the wheel is on. |
