Wastegate spacer, unique!
I put a spacer in the wastegate spring!
Now I went from maxed at 10.5-11.0 psi, to a few turn left at ~13psi... (Cheap as free, and .5 hrs work!)

Thankee! (I'm just glad I found a purpose for that junky hose clamp!)

Big and blurry pic, but sounds like you've been successful.

Yeah, the picture's so big I can't make out what it is. Try reducing to something more realistic like 1280 x 800.

I had to reduce it 10x to finally make out that he's holding it in black rubber gloves. That hose clamp will make the spring sit crooked. Should have used flat washers.

I figured out the resizing!
Hey Funola, I thought about that as well, of course I didn't have any flat washers the appropriate size at the time, and I was curious about the gap required. I'll swap it out soon enough, since it will bug me that the spring isn't "true"; but really it works just fine even for being a rough draft! (And it was infinitely cheaper that the manual wastegate I picked up and can now return!)

Cadin,
I have my wastegate apart as part of my turbo build and while I have it apart I was thinking about doing the same thing but my question is this.... If using washers that fit a little better, how much "thickness" (washers) should be used to get a few more pounds of boost? How thick is that hose clamp?
