Driver side tail light issue

I noticed the drivers side tail light is not working but will light up when brake pedal is of pressed. I replaced bulbs and no change. Connections do not look corroded either. Also, the driver side parking light is out and I have one on order.

Any suggestions?

... if the "tail light" comes on when the BRAKE pedal is pressed there is a problem in the wiring for sure...

Left and right park lights are separate fuses.

The brake light current is chasing a ground, it's not finding one, so the current travelling back thru the taillight filament.

You've got two problems.

The ground connection to the body under the trunk plastic is probably rusty

The W210 uses a molded tail light assembly with conductive runners for the bulb contacts. If you lose the ground on the brake/tail light bulb (such as if the shell of the bulb is not touching the socket) you will get the exact symptoms you describe.

Ok I will look into what y'all have listed. I did find the fuse was blown so I will replace and see if that fixes it. Hopefully that is all it is.
