Manual Heater Valve...Leaking..

Well I went and hooked up my heater core today, was all happy to get one more thing off the list....refill with coolant, check....no leaks check...turn heater on, check....getting heat, check...re check for leaks....WTF

So I don't have a spare 70$ hanging around, wondering if anyone knows if they can be disassembled and rebuilt?

I have an assortment of o-rings already on hand....I am telling my self the seals dried and it will stop leaking....while...the other side tells me no you stupid

Just to let others know, it can't be disassembled. I will be doing an autopsy on it....via a hammer and will post photos.

I removed it and hooked it to a garden hose, the valve wouldn't even close, so if it did stop leaking, I would still be left with hot air in the cabin..

Here be the insides, pretty simple device, but as you can see. Even if you were able to pull them apart, the seals aren't o rings but rather square. So locating a seal wouldn't be easy.

behind the white piece in the above photo is an o ring, it is rock hard and covered in white, indicating to me it wasn't sealing. Another interesting not, the white pieces are actually ceramic. This must be why the cost is so high.
