Clearing Squirters??

The windshield squirters on the 83 300SD don't work right. There are two squirters with two holes each. The first hole shoots up over the windshield, the second hole does nothing, the third hole dribbles a weak stream that barely hits the glass, the fourth hole does nothing.

How do you clean these out without distorting or enlarging the holes?

Likely they need to be removed, reverse flow cleared, then reattached.

You can leave the Squirters on the Car but unplug the Hose from it. As the other Member said stick a Needle/Pin in the Hole and then use a Straw over the out side end and try to blow the obstruction out.

Connect the Hose and see if it works.

Stick a sturdier Needle in and if you do it slowly you use the Needle as a Lever and you can move the Nozzle/Squirter around to aim it. If you try to do that fast you will likely break the Needle.
Pins may be too soft and bend when trying to adjust the Nozzle/Squirter.

Visit your local dentist and see if you can lean on him for some used root canal files. They're great for cleaning small holes.

Disconnect hoses under hood, use compressed air. My air blasters have rubber ends, press over orifices & blast away. DISCONNECT the hoses first! I tried this once w/o disconnecting hoses on a Suzuki Samurai, I ended taking the entire windshield/frame from the car to finally find where the hose pop'd loose. It was inside the frame.

i recently had the same problem. i pulled the squirter from the hood and put the straw from a can of carb cleaner in the barb fitting. presto. sprayed myself in the face. now both sides work.
