Ads on the forum? Seriously?

I respectfully disagree. Every computer, phone(iPhone), tablet(android), etc is suddenly doing this. It happens at work and at home. I highly doubt this is a problem with our browsers.

The post is still there, it's a sniffer that runs on the viewers browser, and displays only to the viewer what browser, OS, and ip they are using...
The ip displayed is the true IP, not your router NAT assigned ip... If that graphic brought up an ip, it is the ip you are using.

I just used my mod powers to search that IP address, and your username was shown... Also, the ip search brought up the NYC info...

I'll remove the IP address from your post...

Disagree all you want. If your computers are displaying ads, inline or between posts, it's you, not the forum.

Download rkill, and malwarebytes and superantispyware and run them...

I did the following in advanced settings...block all cookies, disable/don't allow java, block plugins, don't allow pop-ups, don't allow sites to track and dont provide location. Seems to work fine for me no ads. You can tweak these for your own use or you could get an ad blocker which does more or less the same thing.

This on google chrome and I also use firefox which does this more or less automatically.

Yes that post from dieseldiehard is still there. I thought in was in this thread. Did dieseldiehard put that sniffer there?

I turned off adblock plus and I can now see the banner ad at the very top, and the banner ad at the very bottom. No ads in line between posts, however.

Same goes for my mobile Chrome browser that is not using adblock plus at all.

So in-line ads are indeed not embedded in the forum.

nah, I'd not worry about it, I just removed it to prevent any hacking from happening.

yes, dieseldiehard has that graphic in his sig. it is harmless, and does not collect or transmit any info anywhere.
it's simply a gif that polls your computer for the image it displays... it can't do anything with the info... it's an OLD graphic, I think I saw it first around 1997...

I went to the danasoft site to read about the graphic... it heavily talks about myspace... give you an idea how old they are...
