Plenty of threads on these Forums about sick or dying Mercedes automatics - one on this forum right now! I've had my share. Maybe real men don't want to have to pay a shop (where the price automatically doubles "because it's a Mercedes") if the slush-box takes a dump. Or the turbo. Or the ACC. Besides, these cars feel 500 pounds lighter with a stick-shift! It's why I bought a 5-speed Euro 300TD.
So call me a wimpy stick-shift driver!
