Hello, figured showing off my first W123 would be an appropriate first post here. I know she is a little punk rock but she's my first old car so I'm pretty excited. I took the racks off pretty soon after the pic

Oh and yes, those are storm troopers painted into the front quarter panels!

Thanks! No plans on lowering it as the SLS still works and I really like the cushy ride quality right now. Once I get the engine sorted I definitely plan on putting it back on era correct Bundt rims. I still have a few cans of the blue paint left so I've also considered maybe even doing the logo hubcaps painted to match. Also have my eyes open for a pair of plastic bumper shrouds.

I definitely have my work cut out for me. Focusing 100% on getting as many quirks out of the engine as possible at the moment.

Besides all the great DIY info on this forum, click the iFixit link in my signature for a bunch of guides with many covering the stuff a new owner of a W123 needs to know how to do, from checking fluids to changing out simple parts to doing brake jobs or cooling system work.

Cool looking wagon the paint job reminds me of an FJ55. The storm troopers are a nice touch..lol. What interior color and paint code? I just bought one as well and I love the design and classic luxury car ride quality.

Thanks for all the friendly feed back and comments! These forums and of course, Mercedes Source has given me the courage to take this car over from my boss. It was essentially given to me but it is street parked so I was a little nervous about not having a place for it to "break down in".

I'm not sure of the paint code he used but it was originally the dark blue. It has the blue interior with the fake leather and wood grain. The sunroof is a slide open one so I think it's the middle tier one.

I've been driving it daily so far and just loving every minute of it. My 2009 Honda Fit is feeling quite neglected these days!

Yep, would have been a tricky deal to run a cable from the back in a wagon for a power roof, the way they had them designed at the time.

Mercedes S***** (not really allowed to talk about competitors here since the forum is sponsored by our friendly Peach Parts/Pelican Parts hosts) has good guides, a great youtube channel, and the on demand videos he is making are helpful and usually worth the money if you can't find good help elsewhere. However his parts prices are through the roof and he often sells sub-par aftermarket brands without disclosing it.

What he means is if it has a sunroof it will be manual, not power/motor operated.

Totally understand, Pelican is actually close to me and just got some parts from them, very impressed.

I was unaware all the 123's had sliding roofs, thought that some had power..

Some W123's DO have power. My understanding, though, is that none of the station wagons do.

Mainly, you'll find power roofs on the 300D sedans, and 300CD coupes.

240D's often had no sunroof, or got a manual one.
