I am Confused! Not Like Something is new...

Decided I rather go for the tank strainer than touch the interior. The information I have (mostly by searching the Peach) says on the front side by the differential and is a 46mm nut. Well, there is neither! I just have two nipples on the front of the tank with no fittings. There is a plug in the center bottom of the tank that has a hex fitting. Is this it?

Thank you so very much in advance!

Oh and Ember is acting so different and actually trying to lay as close to me while I work. Normally she doesn't like the loud noises, but since our road trip up to Weed California she has been different, even coming back from Weed.

I think you probably need to look under a bit of rubber to find something that looks like this

What is Wrong With me?

So I see the pictures, but I still can't see a bolt that should be plain as day! I made sure to scrape and even stabbed the tank to be sure I wasn't missing this chasm hole. Can y'all see the tank strainer bolt?

Ugg... I was just about to put on Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming to Take me Away"! Thank you John for correcting this! I wiss I could find the manual along with the missing axle stand. Man I hate memory loss... Though think the axle stand was stolen.

If anyone wants a 1 13/16" wrench for a good price... Bought it for the Volkswagen but didn't work there either...

You have a wagon, the photos are of a sedan. The tank screen on a wagon is the big nut on the bottom.....Rich

Exxon Valdez Oil Spill...

My garage and me are covered in diesel fuel! Glad diesel fuel isn't highly flammable but man does the smell get everywhere!

Tank screen is clear, but I can feel grit in the tank. Now what?

Do you use the signature line or do I need to put it in the post?

There's too many extraneous "t"s wandering the internet anyway. Its about time for a caped defender of the accurate to appear on scene and remove the heresy of the trailing "t".

And how does this help me?

I have a Touring Diesel Turbocharged and states TD-T in the manual.

Now back to the question: how to clean out the tank.

Plan B

So I cleaned the strainer and wiped out the tank until I didn't feel any grit. I am thinking the supply line is plugged. What do you all think?

Compressed air works great for blowing out fuel lines. Once you know you have a clean tank and lines, you can look elsewhere for fuel starvation issues. Be sure to check the tank vent as well. Now is the time to replace all the rubber fuel lines in the back if they have not been replaced recently.....Rich
