Looks like your car has ASD. Does it have the load levelling rear suspension as well?

No, it was an (uncommon) option. You could also get ASD without SLS.

My car sadly has neither option fitted.

My 91 has ASD but not the leveling system. I don't think the ASD system is working, since the light is on. I've not heavily investigated why. Not sure where to start.

The build sheet for that VIN includes:
040 C 220 CANADA SPECIAL EDITION
211 AUTOMATIC LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL (ASD)
291 AIRBAG FOR FRONT PASSENGER

NO SLS noted on the build sheet.

My '91 SDL also had the ASD. It used the dual power steering pump that the SLS would have also used, but did not have SLS.

040 is the paint code. That vin decoder has some quirks... But yes I have the tandem pump, nitrogen balls and fluid lines coming off the rear struts. I'll snap some pics tonight. Im guessing rare enough not to be in the mbvin.tk database. Probably one of these "No Code available" entries:

Beautiful. Mine is white with gray interior. Not sure how black would do with the summer sun/heat here in the South... But these are a joy to drive!

Nice SDL and the price is spot on. Wish you were closer - transport fees push the total cost of ownership on these small dollar cars pretty sharply. sigh
