Windshield Wipers Don't Work

It turns out that my windshield wipers don't work. This was an unwelcome realization a few weeks ago when it spontaneously rained while I was driving home from work.

Do you all have a suggestion on how to identify the source of the problem (i.e. switch versus motor) and any tips on how to replace the offending part?

Thanks,

Mike

You did check for old weak blown out fuse or corrosion at the fuse terminals by cleaning them? Can be corroded terminals cause the fuse to become isolated. Could be the original thirty some year old fuse died just from metal expansion and contraction. Actually there were better fuse designs than the originals available for a long time for these cars.

are you sure the motor is not going? one of the joints on my wiper assembly failed while the motor was actually still working. i don't know what the assembly is like on your model though.

I pulled the fuse. Looked at it. Put it back in. And now they work. I didn't see any corrosion, and it definitely wasn't blown. Regardless, they work again!

Thanks
