300D - 1980 Starting problem

Sometimes when I turn the key to start the car I hear a click and nothing after that. I move the shifter thru the gears and after a while it starts in neutral or park. It is getting worse. What could be the problem? Thanks. Ray

Might be the neutral safety switch..... check the archives...

Could be a combo....NSS, shifter bushing, starter, bad cables, bad ground connections...

Hard to say, you'll just have to start checking stuff..
