Connector conundrum: need help with wiring diagram 83-605

My question concerns wiring diagram 83-605 (which doesn't seem to be loading from the StarTek site, I had to get it from a third party server). I tried to attach it here but the file is too large. This is the diagram for ACC II (my 1980 300td).

I am focused on the connector marked # 10, which is labelled "preresistance for blower".

Questions:

- I believe this is the male side of the six-pin connector for the blower motor regulator. Am I ok so far?

- Should I be reading the wiring color codes from top to bottom as 1-6?

- Where is the other side (female) of the plug in this diagram? I don't see another six-pin connector in the diagram.

The issue is that I am pretty sure the terminals on at least one side are out of order in the connectors. (Trust me on that.)

However, the color codes on the wires on two sides are completely different (the side that is connected to the bundle going to the regulator is nearly all green/green brown stripe/black/green white stripe.

Thanks

Thanks but no cigar. This is what my wires look like:

Green (x2)
Green white
Green (red/brown)
Green with green stripe (? this wire's cladding is very faded for some reason)
Black

This matches the colors of the bundle at the blower regulator/resistor.

Actually it had never occurred to me to crack open the Haynes.

I think I may have it. On p 274 of my Haynes, in the wiring diagram for the 1980 300td, US market:

#47 (pre-resistance for blower motor), look below and you can see what I guess is the plug with some different wire colors on each side.

I am having a hard time seeing it even with my glasses, so will take to work tomorrow and blow up on the copier.

the pin numbers should be molded into the plastic of the connector itself as well. you might be able to recognize the "preresistance" on the schematic because it is one of the only places in the whole system with large resistors (2 of them, i guess?).

Yes the numbers are there, albeit almost invisible on the female plug.

But how does that help me when the wires are not numbered?

Do the wiring colors correspond to a standard numbering scheme?

Maybe I ought to mention that this is my first ever crack at a wiring diagram, apart from following an explanation in a thread on window switches (much easier).

you need the schematic. i see the pin numbers there in haynes - though it looks like you will need to learn the german-language color abbreviations.

I have the German color abbreviations, no problem there. I will look again at the schematic tomorrow.

Thanks for the info.

I looked up the parts here on Peach Parts and there is only Phoenix and Febi Motor Mounts.

Phoenix Mounts are marked with the Phoenix Logo and that reminds me of the Chevy Bow Tie and has the Mercedes Part Number on it. I can't remember if Made in Turkey is on the Mount or only on the Box.

Lemfoerder re-boxes the Phoenix Mount and either are the same as the Mercedes Dealer Mounts with the exception that the Lemfoerders have the Mercedes Star ground off.

See post #6 for a Phoenix Motor Mount.
Motor Mounts and shield

Any way the Phoenix Mounts have a lot of writing on them; at least on one side. If the mount you bought did not have that writing and it came from Peach Parts it was likely the Febi Motor Mount.
