1987 w124- more mystery wiring hacked up
so on my 1987 300td, i have gotten most of the wiring sorted out. whoever did all this is a fool. under the driver's side carpet, there are some hacked wires. 2 large red ones were cut and spliced into 1 that goes to the back. what are they for and why would one do this? and the 3 small ones? i soldered those up and heat shrunk them btw. i have no power sunroof, locks, or power passenger seat at the moment. i notice a clicking noise from the passenger foot well when coming to a stop sometimes or even when just sitting. sounds like a relay. what are the plastic and metal boxes for on that side? thank you!

The box in your third picture is the anti theft alarm controller. Made by Becker for MB.
I'm assuming you got hold of a decent set of schematics. Note however that if you got yours from w124-zone.com there are a couple missing sheets in the set. There is a link with a drop down to retrieve the missing sheets. One of them is the alarm so you will definitely need that.
