Looks beautiful.
Some people swapped euro parts back on after federalization. My grandpa imported a silver blue metallic 280ce, customs made him change headlights, tail lights, corner lights and bumpers. As soon as the car was in his driveway he swapped everything back. |
It's amazing the variety of changes made to these grey-market cars. My '84 Euro TD, and a Euro 230TE of a friend, came with US front bumpers, but kept the Euro rear bumpers. (What's up with that?!) Mine has a US speedometer (which reads way too fast) but no EGR or door-beams, and it had Euro lights when I bought it, but I was forced to swap-in my spare US headlamps as both Euro lenses were broken and the lamp reflector bowls had corroded. I also installed a US rear bumper since my Euro one was badly mangled. I've now collected the correct Euro speedometer, Euro lights and wagon bumpers to put mine back to original someday - if I ever get caught up with all my other projects!
Happy Motoring, Mark |
Mine got the whole 9 yards, rear seat belts, door bars, us lights/corners/tails, warning system, odd egr but I still had the euro bumpers..
