Hose from lift pump to main filter-cant budge fitting at LP

Is the hose fitting at the lift pump unusually difficult to loosen in others experience? I've replaced all the other fuel hoses with 5/16 hose and want to replace this one too. I cant seem to get the fitting at the LP to move and don't really want to force it. Im using a 17mm flare nut wrench, PB soaked it and the washer fluid bottle is out to get easier access to everything btw. I have the hose assembly from the dealer ready to go, but I'd rather not have to cut the old hose out to replace it.

I am not sure what it looks like on and 87 300TD. If you can get something; even a Butane Lighter down there to heat/soften the Plastic on the nupple just enough to yank the whole thing off and leave the bare Nipple you could leave the Fitting there.

If there is room you could cut the Platic Tube and maybe get a Deep Socket on the Fitting. You need to leave enough Plastic Tubing sticking out so you have somethng to grab onto with a Pliers to help pull the Plastic Tube off.

Thanks Diesel911, gotta love diesels bc I wouldnt consider an open flame as an option to get a fuel hose off with a gasser....lol. Anyway, I've got some free time coming up to revisit this one and check if there is clearance to get a deep socket over the fitting.
