Smile No More Ether

WANTED TO SAY THANKS TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTE TO THIS SITE. I'VE HAD MY 300D FOR 2 MONTHS (2800 MILES) NOW, 1ST MB. ONLY WAY TO START IT WAS WITH STARTING FLUID, EVEN WHEN IT WAS 60 DEG. A NEW PREGLOW TIMER UNIT, 4 NEW GLOW PLUGS AND SHE STARTS IN ABOUT 1 SECOND.

ALSO LIKED THE TIPS ON WHY I HAD 2" OF WATER IN MY REAR FOOT WELL ON MY RECENT TRIP TO MILWAUKEE. I WOULD NEVER HAVE GUESSED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD

FOUND A GOOD WRECK, GRILL, DASH, INST. CLUSTER, REAR LIGHTS, FRT LIGHT COVERS, CARPET,+++++++++ FOR $80.00 COUPLE HOURS OF WORK AND SHE'LL BE LOOKING PRETTY GOOD

IF ANY ONE HAS A GOOD DEAL ON A FRONT RIGHT WING LET ME KNOW, BLUE PERFERRED

Glad to hear you dont need starting fluid any longer because MBs were not designed for it and you can toast your engine, unlike a Cat or Jimmy. In a pinch use WD40, much better, also works great in a potato gun.

thanx for the tip on wd40 and mb effects. i know it works wonders on my lawn & garden equipment.

haven't had a need for a potato gun for a long time, prefer the real type. it's pretty hard to kill a deer with a potato.

we use to (25 yrs) launch tennis balls w/ 6 beer cans taped together, same theory, reusable artillery.

Ya.. I have been around marine diesels all my life and would have not thought twice about using starting fluid in my MB engine had I not stumbled across a post in the archives warning about its use.
Good luck with your 300, these guys have really provided me with allot of useful info....Many Thanks

well one thing about hunting with a potato gun is you can always eat the amo if you dont bag the deer.
