Are Sanden swap kits still available?

Look what I discovered... Sanden swap instructions on 616/617s

I have an 82 240D with auto transmission.

I know its getting into the cooler months buy I wanted to get ready for next summer by getting my old R4 non working system replaced with the newer Sanden.

I went to the website listed on the link above:
europeancoolerair.com

no results.

I want a complete kit that I can order and just install. Are the kits still available?

Thanks

A member named ROLLGUY manufacturers his own kits. Hopefully he will see your post, but if not, you might consider sending him a PM.

Another option that has been on the market for a while now:

Roll-Guy's kits are pretty much plug 'n play - I have one on my 300cd and I'm very happy with it. Be sure to use the hardware he supplies - I read a thread on this board where someone's installer had scrounged around for miscellaneous nuts and bolts, one or two of which had rattled loose and fell off. The hardware Roll Guy supplies is a bit of a pain in the *** to tighten up but once you get it on it is not going to rattle loose - and this is exactly what is needed due to the intense vibration of the diesel engine.

Oh well. Your price is more competitive but I didn't know.

I'm sure you can cancel your order on Klima. I doubt they've even processed it yet. Their phone # is on the front page.

If anyone read that reference URL in the first post... you see that I asked about why my car was not represented....
AND
on some thread lately there was talk about my car and cooling with reference to a condenser in front of the little radiator it came with..
so I looked at it today.

and it has a BOLT ON OIL COOLER on its side... aluminum..... that might make the hose routing different from later models listed ...which I assume had coolers built in like the turbo engines....

I initially tried to buy a Klima Kit but they were not in stock and they didn't have a date when they would be. It was hard to get in contact with them. I happened upon Rollguy's kit here on the forum and have to say I have been quite pleased, bolted right on, other than a hose mod but Rich sells those as well, I did it myself. I ran about a thousand miles then re-torqued them all, didn't find any loose bolts. Cools great, I am using r12 though most people use r134 with good results I hear.

I have RollGuy's kit w/ Sanden in my 85 300D and the original R4 in my 84 300D, both w/ Duracool refrigerant and PAO 68 oil. Both cool about the same, and neither does well for long at idle since the electric radiator fan doesn't like to turn on until the refrigerant is really hot (RollGuy posted a design to always turn it on w/ compressor). I will stay w/ an R4 in the 1984 since I have some used ones, plus a new one I got cheap on ebay. If buying retail, R4's can be so expensive that buying RollGuy's bracket and new Sanden makes sense.

I was able to order a klimakit, but they contacted me and said they weren't producing them anymore. So I used Rollguy's.

Hello Rich,

Do you have any W126 (Gen 1), kits available? Ideally I need the complete kit; brackets, compressor, head, hoses, receiver/dryer (if you have it), etc.

My brand new R4 AC Compressor packed it in after about an hour of running on R134a. Frustrating as I now have to clean out the complete system after replacing everything except the condenser. Yes, I replaced the evaporator - 2 weekends of work, what a pain, would wish that job on anyone. Fortunately I have the winter to fix the AC.

Disregard the Netherlands address, I have family in Florida.

Reply or send me a PM with the purchase details.

The only difference between the 126, 116, and 123 is the hoses. I have everything to make hoses for the 123, but the factory fittings need to be modified on the 126 hoses. You would either have to send the factory fittings to me so I can make the hoses, or you would have to have them made locally (weld on barbs, and crimp hoses). Other than the hoses, I have everything ready to ship. PM headed your way....Rich
