Hagerty, Grundy or a similar stated value type policy would cover it, it does limit your use of the car though but then again a 30K show wagon probably wouldn't be a daily driver. It would be easy to get to 30K if you were to pay someone to restore a wagon to this type of condition. Beautiful cars and MM seems to find buyers. I know I couldn't afford to own my 2 old MBs if I had to pay someone to service them much less restore them.

For a daily driver, my CDI blows any W123 or W124 diesel into the weeds. But my W124 cabriolet is a completely different proposition, it's a car I've wanted to own since they were first introduced and is treated as a toy, and therefore not apples to apples compared to a newer version. I wanted THAT car, not just any cabriolet. Jim

It's what you make it. My 240D will never be perfect like MM's cars but it will be clean and nicely done. And I'll be happy.
