Real Honky!

A while back fuse 14 was blowing, so no horn, plus disconnected for testing. Hooked them back up up now have the opposite problem! When the ignition is on, honk all the time. Thinking I might have crossed wires, as the only thing that changed. But considering how loud it is, figure both horns are on. Didn't change the horn button, looks fine, but don't know how to take it off; need to look that up. Any ides?

Thank y'all for the help!

Apparently the pad just pulls off, so going to do that and have a look.

Thank you so very much! I noticed if I don't do a good title, especially one that catches attention, I don't get any help. However, so far the opposite has been true!

Can't get the horn pad as hear ripping. Feels like the center emblem is stuck. Any ideas?

I can feel the horn engaging, so not stuck there?

Disconnected one horn and no difference.

Well, the hookyness is increasing while the honkyness is decreasing.

I removed the steering wheel to check the contacts, and they are fine. Even more odd is the horn isn't honking continuously!

Any ideas?

On my wheel, the contacts had broken on one side. I forget exactly what happebed and what I did. Every single time I hit a big bump or made a sharp turn, my horn beeped. It was awful. The horn pad rips off the front, but be gentle.

Manny, thank you for the help!

It fixed itself... At least now I know how to take it apart, though the pad ripped despite being very extra careful. Tried gluing together, but not having it... Any other ideas?

So your horn pad is destroyed?

Will a W201 horn pad from the 84 steering wheel fit a W123 wheel? You can have my old pad if I still have it on my shelf! That's if it fits of course. I don't know if it will.
