Ultimate 300TD...

Here's a project our w116 fans will love and a project us diesel heads will love....why because...throw a turbo OM617 in there and twice the size as the normal TD

In all seriousness though, who made that? If you consider the work that goes into such a conversion, it looks reasonably well made. At least superficially...

These conversions are what prompted MB to produce the TD in the first place.

The ULTIMATE TD has to be the w126 conversions I've seen... That 116does look well done though.

cannot handle the C-pillar trim. no. altering a coupe into a convertible is the only kind of body conversion that stands a chance at aesthetic success because there is no change to the lines. so, however many companies made these conversions at the time - i hope you made a profit.

Here in CA someone could put a Diesel engine in it, and it would be smog exempt (1975 and older). I have too many projects, but this one intrigues me

W116 custom wagon:

Seems like they kept the "rear panel" for the trunk lid opening, and did not cut through it like they did with the W126 wagon (see below).

W126 custom wagon:

Diesel W126 Wagon??

Some used the S124 rear lights (above), others used the W126 rear lights (below). Both used the S123 rear window trim.

Like what Chiwanga did with his 450SEL, dubbing it a 300SDL (if memory serves me, he had a CL ad a long time ago).
