Trim...trimming?

So I've had very little luck with finding the lower body trim for my 1981 300CD. I'm missing that little piece that sits behind the passenger side door, toward the bottom of the body. I mean, I've found some, but I don't want to pay $40+ for that.

Is there any reason that I can't get a piece of body trim from some other W123 and just trim it to size to stick on there?

I've got an 81 300 cd parts car parked out in the woods. I will go see if the part you need is still on it and get back with you

Don't bother.... the raccoons or squirrels have already removed it to upgrade the looks of their nests.....if not them the packrats or crows.... both love that sort of shiny objects ...

Be glad you do not have Keas to deal with....

The part is still there and looks ok. sent you a private email. The dogs keep the small animals away and the bears aren't interested in old MB parts.
