What's holding the SD blower motor
I smelled burning when the heat is on and the blower running on the 84SD. The smell goes away when the system is turned off.
I'm removing the blower motor from the late 84 parts car and hoping to swap it to the early 84SD. I have all of the screws out per FSM and the left side of the blower motor housing is stuck. Is there a plastic tab or something that I'm not seeing? I don't want to break the housing. What's the deal?

It's been a while since I've had it out but IIRC, there are 4 screws. But honestly, my memory is slipping with age.
Is the burning smell "woody" or "plastic"? Usually, it's from leaves getting between the firewalls and contacting the resistor pack for the blower motor. A shop vac, on the exhaust port, or even better an electric leaf blower works well. Smaller leaves, such as Live-Oak, can be a major fire hazard and a PIA to clear. Of course, the worst possibility may be a nest built by small 4-legged varmints!

Yeah, should be screws visible.

FSM said 3 screws. The smell was nasty like rubber.
Wife wanted to close her nostrils & pretend it wasn't there. I may have to buy her a car that doesn't need an awareness. What noise? What light? What smell? Need to sell a couple first to make room in the drive.
