looking for non-sunroof MB

I am in the market for a 1977-1984 MB W123 car. I am looking for a non-sunroof model and having a hard time finding one. Do all 1982-1984 300d come with sunroofs? Are non-sunroof models only available on the 240d?
Thanks!

Non

I may be selling my W115 '76 240D in the spring and it doesn't have a sunroof.

Are you on the North American continent ?

Why? They work and don't leak.

Have you read in the archives ?

Generally, the only non-sunroof models are 240D's. There's a non-sunroof 240D in the Phoenix area for sale right now, for example.

'82 Mercedes Benz 240D

Any models above the 300D back then got sunroofs in the US.

Station wagons have the upside of all having manual sunroofs, so no motor and cable issues to deal with.

Nice looking 240, too bad it is an automatic.

I agree it seems the 240D was the only W123 that came with out the sun roof. Our 80 does not have one, and I like that. I also have the 78 and it does not have one.

I have seen a few 123 sedans with a manual sun roof. They may have been grey market models.

My '81 300TD wagon does not have a sunroof.

In general, I think this is good. One less thing.

Yeah, I have two wagons in the driveway that definitely read the archives LOL.

For one thing no sunroof cuts down on flooded floor rust contributions. Total non issue without those drains

I don't think the sun roof drains can be blamed for all of the floor rot.

The spring pocket areas can leak if neglected.

The front windscreens are also known to leak.

On rarer occasions the gutter that feeds air to the heater core can also cause trouble if neglected.

Many of the European W123 lower specification models such as the 200 / 200T and the 200D and the 220D quite often left the factory without holes in their roofs as well as the 240D!

On the whole it is more likely not to see a sunroof on a four cylinder engined vehicle - but that isn't "a rule"

I was thinking more specifically of the flooding from clogged or rusted drains. Non issue as in now you dont have to bother with worrying about that water source

Fair enough - also nice not to have that wave over the edge of the bath effect when you open the sun roof for that first time in the summer! (On that rare rare day when there's a strange yellow thing hanging where the clouds usually are)
