87 300TDT Vacuum Line Identification

Whilst I had my head buried under my hood this evening, I found this disconnected vacuum line. It resides between the IP and the windshield washer reservoir. It was routed near the master cylinder. I have no idea where it is supposed to go. I have capped it off.

Anyone know where it is supposed to connect? Inside the cabin?

Thank You!

the black one coming out of the side of that "box"? that is a vent line for your transmission's VCV valve. it dumps off vacuum the more your accelerator moves for firmer shifts. that line is supposed to be routed into the cabin and left open at the other side of the firewall so it doesn't draw nasty engine bay air into your vacuum system. i think it may tie in to a large black like that goes to all the emissions crap behind the passenger headlight but i removed all of that so not exactly sure.

There are 2 vent lines to the cabin, and yes that is so that when the system needs to relieve vacuum it draws relatively cleaner air from the cabin.

One is from the VCV which is in your picture. The other goes to the emissions control vacuum transducers behind the right headlight.
