Torque pro app
ELM 327 connector
I wanted to leave the tablet mounted in the dash, so I got a cheap Nuvision tablet from Sam's ($80)
7.85" NuVision 7.85 Tablet - 16GB w/ Intel Atom Dual-Core 1.2GHz Processor - Sam's Club

Works fine.

Is the Nissan connector different? You may need an adapter.

Whether you can read oil pressure depends on the app and the car.

YES! Thank you. Something I can do that won't mess with the warranty.

The vvt system malfunctioned and I would have noticed the oil pressure fluctuations. Eventually got it with a timing light. I'll have to read the sensor when I get it back from the dealer.

Thanks. I love your build. Showing my dad as he has a 49 Chevy and I'm telling him to go 617. He's looking at a 4bd2t. Yuck.

I agree, which is why I made my own tablet-based engine instrumentation.

I mounted a tablet in the steering wheel to present the data. The sensor data is collected by a custom Arduino system and the data is transmitted to the tablet over Bluetooth. I monitor intake temp, oil temp, trans temp, engine bay temp, EGT, fuel pressure, volts, boost and vacuum.

Since it's an Android tablet I also use it for navigation and HUD (altitude, speed, distance, average speed, trip mileage, etc).

Impressive, Mach4. Especially building your own custom Arduino system to collect data from all of the sensors.

Progress is slow with so many little things that take time.

Finished the E-brake. The Mercedes mechanism works well in custom applications, and the aluminum construction is much nicer and of far better design and construction than the stamped steel used in most domestics.

Converting windshield wipers to electric and adding modern pivots is next. Ugh!

Another headache out of the way. Married the original wiper with a Toyota wiper motor. Eventually I will connect the passenger side wiper.

Figuring out the wiper motor wiring--the park feature--took more effort than making the bracket!

Lovin' your build! Don't hesitate to Email me with specific questions. Having recently completed (well, as much as a race truck is ever "completed") a similar oddball swap I might have a bit of useful info.

Got briefly sidetracked with a 1995 E300D I got a few months ago ... for $600, not running. When I picked it up, the owner's son met me. After I paid for it, I asked him to tell me what was wrong. He said that it was running fine, but then got to where it would not start. Would crank, but not start and smelled like gas. I ask, "gas, or diesel?" Response, "well, uh, diesel." Got it home, took off the fuel filler cap and it smelled like gasoline! That's why it would not start! Apparently "son" filled up from the wrong pump!

So last weekend, I riigged up a Redneck fuel tank (obviously not up to MB standards). But the pump would not clear the air (and gas), which I understand is a common OM606 problem. Got a cheeeep Chinese 12v, 5 psi diesel pump, turned it on and, presto, it cleared the air in the lines in seconds. Then it fired right up. Runs great, trans works fine. Lucked out on the deal.

I feel another project coming on ... but gotta finish the 56 first!

Love the bovine fuel cell! I don't know how it'll do in tech but plastic fuel cells are allowed. They might gripe about the mount......

Here's everything you need to know about swapping an OM617 into a R/C107 -
380SL Diesel Conversion Project

Definitely one of the easiest swaps there is.

Uh, Oh!! I may be in trouble now!

Actually, a pleasant and total unexpected surprise.
