W124 Wheel Offsets.

Good Morning All,

I know, at some point in time, Mercedes changed the W124 OEM wheel offset from 49 to 44mm or vice versa.

Can anyone tell me when this change took place? I'm looking at picking up a set of winter wheels and I would like to know which my 91 300D can make use of.

Thanks

-Kris

I know the 93's have the deeper lug holes. I would guess that would be the 44... but I thought they were 24... I have several sets from various years. I've got 87, 90, and 93... I could look for you if you like.

I think, in 90, when they added the side skirts, they increased the offset, to keep the wheel faces flush with the new extended skin.

It looks like the relevant part numbers are

124 401 07 02
EPC result for NAM 124.128
ET 40 ?

124 400 18 02
Part number from seller, EPC seems to indicate for older W124s
ET 49? 44?

You mean the non-replaceable types? Like in the 400/420 and such?

Have you checked GSXRs website? w124performance.com

He has a chapter on 124 and there are several entries at the bottom with wheel fitment data.

Did the change coincide with the change from oval to rectangular wheel slots?
