Diesel Surging

Hi Folks-

My 93 300 2.5 Turbo exhibits a strange surging in second and third gear at part throttle openings. This happens around 2200 rpm. Once it climbs past 2500 rpm it accellerates strongly again.

Any ideas? The car has 106,000 miles on it and has been maintained by the book and uses no oil.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Best Regards,

If your car were a 1986/87 model, I'd say it's likely to be either the EGR or air recirculation valve on the turbo. However, I don't know if your car (with the OM602) has these. Might be a place to start looking, though. I assume you've already cleaned and lubed the throttle linkages?
