heh... let's try to imagine what the MB scene will be like in 40 years...

My guess is diesel will be illegal, and we will be regulated to the fringe die hards of the country... seen like the mountain men of the deep south... posting on the illegal internet about methods to get tainted fuel safe to burn in our vintage rides...

even electric cars will be a thing of the past, humans will have evolved into pure energy beings that can travel instantaneously across the stars with a thought... ok, maybe not just yet... so, maybe we will have perfected the teleporter? government types will be struggling on methods of taxing the travel through the ether... "transportation tax" will be encoded on each transit, and our power bill will reflect distances and special destinations... to pay for police and fire to protect the children of course!

Hey, Stretch--I hope you didn't take my humorous post in the wrong way. What I meant was that in 10 years' time you would have done every major DIY, leaving only trivial things like the odometer knob.

Love your stuff. No disrespect intended.

Absolutely no offence taken - I was wetting my sides (your BW thread too) - poor "old" John!

I think this will be happening in the next ten years - there's a big push over this side of the water to stop diesel (after encouraging it for the last decade or so)

biofuel is strongly encouraged around here, all our public schools run on their own collected stock fuel... all resturants get oil delivered to the local biodiesel refinery here... if they make official diesel illegal... what will the schools and public transportation use? I've seen some hybrid public buses... I can't imagine any schools could afford it.

charlotte's school system budget for bussing alone is over 2billion...with a B... imagine what it would be with all hybrid transportation...

Well the way things go round here the rule makers don't seem to pay much attention to what it will cost. I think they think the change needs to be made and they make the incentive by taxing what they don't like out of existence.
