Fastlane or any MB dealer should be able to get them for you. There's a small chance you might be able to find a rebuilt harness; the odds are higher for a gasoline-engined MB since there are more of them. Used cables are probably just as risky as yours; the prize would be a used but newer cable installed as a replacement.

Was there ever an official recall on those harnesses for that time period? I know there were lots of issues and many were replaced. As I recall some were done at least via goodwill if not a service campaign.

If you can afford not to drive the car for a while then pull the affected harness lay it out on a board place some nails where the branches are. Most of the connectors can be opened then start replacing wires one at a time unsolder and resolver the ends. A bit time consuming but very doable.

96 e300d wire harness

Hi Guys
What you said is what I was doing one problem the sov plug is not working I think. The engine is not getting fuel.
When I connect a 12volt outside source to the sov I hear the click of the valve but when I connect it to the plug no click. I think I need a sov plug which is connected to the wire harness I guess. The harness has fallen apart plugs and all. Does the sov run off of 12 volts or lower voltage? Thanks Greg AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

I punched the part number into the box about and the Pelican has the harness for $600.00

Zoinks!

One thing you can do is rebuild the harness yourself. Most of the connectors are servicable, have snap on plastic covers and can be de-soldered and soldered back onto a new piece of wire.

I helped a guy rebuild his harness for his '95 and it only took a couple hours.
