Pressure Relief Valve Vacuum Specifications

So for y'alls information, apparently '85 is also unique in the location of the pressure relief valve.

Instead of it being on the left side along side the tank, it is on the right side forward of the wheel, behind the suspension component.

Can't seem to find the vacuum specifications. Does anyone have these?

I sucked on it and does seem to allow some flow, but doesn't feel right, and sucked in a mouth full of grit... Mmm, tasty!

Thank y'all in advance!

Are you referring to the fuel tank vent?

If so, the attachment in post #2 here: What does the tank vent look like? (1984 300TD)

Thank you so very much!

That thread would have saved me hours of hunting! However, never came up in the searches; odd.

So, how does one apply 10 micro bar with a vacuum tester?

I am thinking not. So far, can pull vacuum through both ends with no trouble. So, blew out the line with my mouth, and suddenly let go, spraying the cleaning fluid all over the floor. Point is, the issue most likely is the line is varnished. Going to get something stronger, a solvent, rather than a cleaner, close off the end, fill up, and let soak.

Why not just buy a new vent/line?

And where am I going to get it?

Then I have to R and R, and that be no fun.

Yes, I could bend up a new line, but really don't like using pop bottle for tube bender, especially with all the various radiuses.

I will look fro the vent, but have my doubts as most T parts are N.L.A..

Turns out, if you want the valve, it is still available!

However, fairly expensive at $20, but for me, it is local and be ready for pick up in a day.

Is it worth it to replace? I am really strapped at this point, trying to get out of debt (what happens when living on savings and the money runs out). And yes, now I got an income.

fahrvergnugen, or is your metal line broken? If the latter, there is a thread on here how to repair.

L.O.L.

Thank you so very much!

I actually have bought parts, as I am a member. However, a lot of parts are N.L.A.. Plus, even the discount, lot of times going to pay way more than the family business or the house.

Maybe you can snake a coat hanger wire up to open the passageway.
