Good lord, be careful out there. You gotta upload that video!!

Here's a dash cam video compilation of some of the storm including the roll-over. Thanks for your patience as I didn't have the tools needed on the road. My dash cam was acting up so I don't have all the footage that would have been nice to have. (Appears to be fine now after an upgrade to the latest firmware)

I didn't see it and found the video quite dry.

Have you found the dash camera to actually help on this trip other than record interesting events?

What were your total costs incurred for hotel/motel, and food/incidentals for your cross-country trip?

Didn't actually track that. Six nights of hotel at around $75 and $10-15 for food daily (breakfasts at the hotel) - the rest of the time I was at my sisters.

Got an oil change done in DFW for around $75 and picked up oil, transmission fluid, degreaser, washer fluid etc. along the way and one car wash.

Costliest road trip in my life was a RT to Las Vegas. Broken windshield, malfunctioning K40, stranded in a snowstorm in NW Texas 3 days........a cheap 5 day $500.00 trip by air, turned into a 10 day, $1,500.00 + trip.........what a lesson!

On long trips I typically bring along an oil filter and tools so I can change my oil on the side of the road. A jack, a couple bricks, and a nice grassy spot make an excellent, well lit workspace on a sunny day.

BTDT - SO many times in 100F+ heat AND below-freezing snow & temperatures - band-aiding, patching McGyver fixes & wrenching on old MBs with 250K miles on them 500 miles from home.

You young guys under 60 might think you're the only ones with roadtrip breakdowns.......

No more for this cat.
