1999 E300 in a wrecking yard, what parts should I get?
I saw this car at a yard today, and am wondering if it is worth my while to get some parts off of it before they are gone. The entire front sheet metal is already gone, as well as a lot of engine parts. Oddly enough, the cylinder head and glow plugs are still there. All the rest of the accessories are gone. I know the head would be good to get because of the breaking off of glow plugs, so that is a given. I think the exhaust manifold and turbo are still there. As far as interior or electrical gadgets, what is valuable and able to be sold? I would only be taking parts off to either save for future replacements on my friends cars (two different friends with the exact same cars, even the color), or for sale to compensate for my labor and other parts.

The silly expanding cup holder, those break all the time. Oh, and I could personally use the glove box lock tab. The part that is not in the door. Mine broke and I will pay you to pull and ship it out.

Rear window regulator, radio above interior mirror which unlocks doors fail sometimes, small fittings come in handy that's all I can think of.

Gear shift mechanism.

Climate control unit is prices and easy to get. Not sure They break. . I could use a gear shift top that has the mercedes symbol. Ours popped of somehow and was lost by a friend I loaned the car too

People take te most random things. Is snag the engine. It's stil useful for someone out there.

The center console switches/trim(lifts out easy when you get Karteks cup holder), becker radio, CCU, passenger seat SRS unit, engine harness and black box on passenger side is some of what I would get if it were me. Now, if the rear fender lower molding is in good shape I need one(black would be perfect)

Those engines are worth big bucks. You can get it cheap and turn a profit if it runs.
edit, just saw that the engine is missing parts. take the glovebox assembly. the glovebox door handles always break off |
